Ah, our 2nd day in London and I woke up sick. Just full of mucous and a sore throat. To say I was less than thrilled was an understatement. With that being said, we opted for a lighter day.
I have found that the best way to learn a little more or integrate yourself into a city, it’s best to do some sort of tour. Lucky for us, there was another Sandeman’s free walking tour, so we tipped our guide £10 for the 2 of us after a great history lesson through some of the most famous landmarks in London such as Trafalgar Square, Parliament, Westminster, etc. We also opted to go to the pub with the guide where I had the saltiest soup of my life, in an attempt to soothe my throat. George had the fish and chips, which is becoming his UK staple.
After lunch and drinking water like a camel to flush out all of the salt, we went and picked up our London Pass, which I must admit is a fantastic deal if you are there for a week and want to do all the sights. We were able to book early, so we got a discount of 10%, making it that much more of an incentive to have it.
After all that fun, I was pretty drained, so we headed back to the hostel for some relaxation and dinner.
